Your drafts and writing progress are stored on your iPhone. If you enable iCloud Sync, Apple synchronizes them through your private CloudKit database. We do not keep a copy of your drafts or read your private iCloud database.
When you ask for an editor letter or an optional game note, the relevant draft or game text, prompt, and an anonymous device identifier are sent over HTTPS to Small Draft’s feedback service and then to the configured AI provider. The service uses that information to generate the requested reply and enforce quotas; it does not persist draft text. AI letters are generated by fictional editor personas and are for writing practice only.
If you choose a custom OpenAI-compatible connection, your request goes directly to the HTTPS endpoint you enter. The endpoint and model remain in local settings, and the API key stays in your device Keychain. That provider’s privacy policy, retention practices, and fees apply.
An anonymous device UUID is created in the Keychain to support feedback quotas. It is not tied to your name or iCloud account. Purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit. Photo access is requested only when you save a share card. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
You can delete local data by removing the app, disable iCloud Sync in the app, revoke system permissions in Settings, and contact us about the anonymous quota identifier. We do not sell personal data or show advertising.
Small Draft is not intended for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. We may update this policy by posting the revised version here.
